Editorial Policy
Our guidelines for publishing independent, accurate, and secure Web3 educational content.
Core Editorial Mission
The XMR Sync Wiki is dedicated to delivering clear, unbiased, and actionable troubleshooting guides for Cake Wallet and Monero users. Our content is written strictly for educational and security-awareness purposes. We aim to protect users from loss of funds due to synchronization failures, phishing applications, or compromised node networks.
Accuracy & Fact-Checking
We pride ourselves on technical accuracy. The blockchain space evolves rapidly, meaning software versions, node configurations, and network heights change constantly. To maintain quality:
- All tutorials are tested locally on actual software builds of cake wallet ios and cake wallet android.
- Remote nodes listed in our directory are queried for latency, block synchronization height, and connection security before publishing.
- Our research desk checks official repositories on the cake wallet github to track updates, bug reports, and software patches.
Non-Custodial Focus & Trust Principles
We believe in absolute self-sovereignty. Because of this, we follow strict criteria when reviewing software or publishing guides:
- Independent Reviews: We only review software that allows users to maintain custody of their private keys. We will clearly state if an application is custodial or non-custodial.
- No Phishing Risk: We never host or link to third-party cake wallet apk mirrors. We only link to official app stores or the verified domain of the software provider.
- No Paid Placement: We do not accept payment to list remote nodes or rate specific wallets. All lists are curated purely based on technical reliability.
Editorial Integrity & Pseudonyms
As documented on our About Page, articles are published under the pseudonym Daniel Reed to protect our contributors. However, this does not diminish our editorial accountability. All content goes through an internal review cycle by the Web3 Security Digest team. If an error is found, we correct it immediately in accordance with our Corrections Policy.
Affiliate & Funding Independence
To fund our node monitoring resources, we participate in selective affiliate programs, such as the Alifar independent affiliate program. These partnerships do not influence our technical findings. We will always disclose affiliate relations clearly on relevant content. For more information, read our Affiliate Disclosure.
